It’s that time of year again—time to dust off your gloves, and get hyped for one of the last major New England handball events of the year: the Greater Lowell YMCA Winter Classic in Lowell, Massachusetts.
This tournament isn’t just a competition; it’s a celebration of everything we love about handball—fierce competition, thrilling rallies, returning champions, and the coming together of our tight-knit community of players and supporters. We’re especially proud to partner with the Greater Lowell YMCA, one of the few YMCAs that truly champions handball. Their support has provided an amazing indoor handball facility for players of the region to play in. (Of course, thanks to the help of Dan Morency and Chris Diminico!)
So, what makes this year’s Winter Classic so special? Here’s what you can look forward to:

We believe handball is for everyone, and this tournament reflects that with three divisions designed to welcome players of all skill levels:
1. 4-Wall Small Ball Open Doubles

Welcoming the Best in the Game
We’re super excited to welcome some of the sport’s brightest stars! Joining us this year are Killian Carroll, a globally renowned handball champion hailing from Massachusetts, and Tyree Bastides, a powerhouse player known for his consistency, athleticism, and electrifying performances on the court. Having athletes of this caliber at the Winter Classic is an incredible honor. Their presence not only intensifies the competition but also offers supporters and fellow players an opportunity to experience elite handball skill up close.

The Winter Classic isn’t just a tournament; it’s a reunion of the handball community. This year, we’re thrilled to host players from across New England and New York, all coming together to compete, connect, and celebrate. There’s something magical about seeing players of all backgrounds and skill levels share the court, united by their passion for the game.
